Abstract (EN)

With evolving technology, applications used in many areas to make people's lives easier, innovations in health care, regular follow up and effective treatment, stillbirth rates have declined. This has led to prolongation of life and increase in the proportion of elderly population in developed countries as compared to other age groups. The elderly population in our country has increased by 22.5% between 2015 and 2020. According to the data of TUIK 2015, the elderly population in 2020 was 7 million 953 thousand 555 people. According to the data of 2020, there are 158 nursing homes under the ministry in Turkey and a total of 13,970 elderly people are being cared for. Services are works/activities performed by other people to facilitate their daily life and improve their quality of life. Nursing homes are facilities that provide services to the elderly. Therefore, it is crucial to develop the presented service in nursing homes. In order to determine the quality of services provided in nursing homes and to enable the evaluation of services for clients, the help is taken from service quality which is the differences between the expected service and the perceived service quality. This study aims to investigate the following objectives; the current status of services in elderly care and rehabilitation centers (ECRC). To determine the factors that influence the perception of service quality. To analyze the role of socio-demographic constituents in this perception and the relative influence of perceived service quality using the Servperf scale and in the light of these findings to draw conclusions and make suggestions for all stakeholders. 1,430 questionnaires distributed in 14 provinces constitute the research sample. The questionnaire was administered to nursing home residents using the face-to-face survey method with convenience sampling. The SPSS and SmartPLS programs examine the collected data, and the model of the research is tested using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM). As a result 3 different scale forms composed on the purpose of evaluate the effects of perception of nursing services and service expectations of the elders on the perceived service quality. The scale of perception of nursing services has 3 subdimensions and 14 statements, service expectations of the elders has 3 subdimensions and 11 statements and perceived service quality has 6 subdimensions and 22 statements. It was established that the subdimensions of perception of nursing services and service expectations of the elders has a positive and significant influence on the subdimensions of perceived service quality in different significance levels.
