Abstract (EN)

In recent years, hyaluronic acid (HA) preparations and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) are generally preferred, especially in order to provide soft tissue healing. In addition, recent studies evaluate the contribution of Ankaferd Blood Stopper (ABS), an herbal extract obtained from Thymus vulgaris, Glycyrrhiza glabra, Vitis vinifera, Alpinia officinarum and Urtica dioica plants, to tissue healing. Our aim in our work; Although there are many studies evaluating the effects of HA, PRF and ABS on wound healing in the literature, there is no study evaluating these three materials by comparing them with each other. In our study, soft tissue defects were created with a 4 mm punch biopsy tool in the dorsal region of 24 Wistar albino type rats, leaving a gap of at least 2 mm, and materials were applied to these defects as a single material for each rat. No application was made to the control group, except for wound isolation. Rats were sacrificed for histopathological evaluation on the 2nd and 5th days after the procedure. Samples prepared from all groups were evaluated in terms of inflammation, necrosis, fibrosis, epithelial regeneration and foreign body reaction As a result of our study, the rate of late fibrosis in the ABS group was found to be statistically significantly higher. In the HA group, the rate of late necrosis formation was found to be statistically significantly lower. No statistically significant finding was found in all other evaluations. In the light of the data obtained, ABS does not make a significant contribution to wound healing because it prevents a healthy wound healing by increasing the fibrosis rate in late wound healing and its other parameters show similar results to the control group, whereas HA significantly reduces the formation of necrosis in late wound healing. We think that it will make a better contribution to the healing process, as it shows better results in other parameters compared to the control group.
