Abstract (EN)
Hypericum salsugineum N. Robson & Hub.-Mor. (Tuzkantaron) is an endemic species of Hypericum, which is the only genus in Turkey, belonging to Hypericaceae, a family containing important medicinal aromatic species. It grows naturally in salt marshes and steppes around Salt Lake of Aksaray and Konya provinces. In this study, morphological, micromorphological, anatomical studies and the determination of ecological characteristics of H. salsugineum were carried out. As a result of the researches, it was found that there are five yellow petals and five sepals, it contains many stamens, and the pistil contains a three-part stylus; however, its seeds have reticulate-striate ornamentation; There are no trichomes in the leaves, there are very dense waxy laminar scale deposits in the cuticle on the upper surface of the leaf and cells with cross-linked mixed cuticular ornamentation, the size of the stomatal cells is reduced due to adaptation to high light and temperature, the stomatal index is high due to water stress, the leaf is emphystomatic in terms of stomata, xeromorph it has an anisocytic stoma type, it has a unifacial mesophyll due to the presence of palisade parenchyma in the leaves of the species that grows in salty and arid areas; pollen is small in size, isopolar, subprolate, trizonocolporate, pollen ornamentation shows perforate-microreticulate characteristics; in root anatomy, the pith is completely composed of xylem and no gland is encountered; In the trunk anatomy, it has been determined that the pith region near the root is smaller and narrower than the trunk away from the root, however, a gland is found here. Characters of the species that are not included in the flora of Turkey are added and the characters that differ are indicated.
