The Mushaf al-Sharif attributed to Hz. Ali (Qur'anic manuscript in the Museum of Turkish and İslamic Art)

This study examines Mushaf, that is attributed to Hz. Ali, registered with the catalog number 458 in the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art. Although there is serious literature in the West in the field of ancient Mushafs, there is few number researches on this subject in Turkey. In addition to its features such as ortoghraphy, ornament, we think that we, as Muslims, should have a say in this issue, which concerns the written protection of the Holy Book of Islam, the Quran. Because of this belief, we wanted to work on this issue from the early Mushafs and contribute to filling the existing gap in the field. In this thesis, TİEM 458 nr. identifying Mushaf's shapely characteristics such as line, counterpoint, punctuation, determining which country it was written for, investigating whether it fits the official Mushaf bases; however, does Mushaf belong to Hz. Ali, as expressed, or was this claim fabricated by later people to gain different interests? In this context, in the first chapter, Mushaf's line, the elements of the counter, zabt, leprosy and prostration omens were examined, attributed to Hz. Ali and an approximate spelling date was determined. In the second chapter, it was determined which country was spelled according to the sahih and the sâz recitations; in the third chapter, it is determined which region it belongs to by investigating how much it complies with the official Mushaf rules.
