Abstract (EN)
The subject of this study is Rudolf Leszynsky's "Die Juden in Arabien zur Zeit Mohammeds", which was published in Berlin in 1910. In his book Leszynsky discussed the Jews residing in Medina during the Prophet's time and their social-political lives and their interactions with Muslims. In this direction, we examined this subject and investigated the subjects Leszynsky touched. Before that, we made statements about Orientalism and German Orientalism. In order to better understand the subjects, we gave brief information about the Works of orientalists who contributed to Orientalism. We have given detailed information about the life of Rudolf Leszynsky, who has dealt with one of the subjects that have been wondered and researched for years. Influenced by Abraham Geiger's highly acclaimed work "What Mohammad Got From Judaism", Leszynsky claimed that Prophet received many teachings from the Jews. Leszynsky, who also touched upon the subjects included in Islamic History sources, evaluated them from his own point of view and interpreted them from a biased point of view. We also tried to clarify the issues with an impartial point of view by comparing Islamic History Orientalist sources. Before moving on to the Jews of Medina we tried to explain the subject by explaining the stages from the beginning of Judaism to the Medina period, exiles and covenants made with God. In this process, we saw that the Jews did not keep their promises, even to God, and renewed their covenants every time. We tried to reveal some of their similarities and differences with Islam by also touching on their belief principles. After theProphet's migration to Medina, an agreement was signed between Muslim and non-Muslims in Medina. In our study, we tried to evaluate the articles and results of this contact in an impartial way by referring to the sources of orientalists and Islamic Historians in the context of Rudolf Leszynsky.
