Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the religious debate between the pagan interlocutors during the time of the Qur'an and the Prophet was investigated. The relentless struggle of the pagan Arab interlocutors who were the heirs of Abraham's religion and the Kaaba against the Prophet with a reflex of defending their existing understanding of religion was analyzed. What prompted the polytheistic interlocutors, who expressed themselves as a religious society and were right in their discourses, to oppose Islam? An answer was looked for to this question. This debate takes part a lot in the Qur'an. Therefore, when the background of this religious debate and struggle is identified, it will contribute to the correct understanding of a significant part of the Qur'an. The attitude of the first interlocutors against the message is very important for understanding the Qur'an. Because, they were witnesses of the revelation process. In fact, some of them have led to the descent of some verses of the Qur'an. In conclusion, we think that it is very important to put forward the attitudes of the pagan interlocutors who occupy such an important place in the descent of revelation against the Prophet. Key Words: Pagan interlocutors, Qur'an, religious debate, the Prophet
