İbn Bâbeşâz and his work named Şerhu'l-mukaddimeti'l-Muhsibe

This study examines the life of Ibn Bâbeşâz al-Jawhari and his work Şerhu'lmukaddimeti'l-Muhsibe. It is possible to say that the author, who has many works, mostly in the field of grammar, was effective in this success due to his personal efforts and the scientific atmosphere resulting from the political stability of the period in which he lived. Ibn Bâbeşâz is one of the grammar scholars who grew up in Egypt during the Fatimid period. One of the most valuable works of Ibn Bâbeşâz, who has an important place in the history of the Arabic language with the students he trained and the works he wrote, is his work Şerhu'l-mukaddimeti'l-Muhsibe. This work, written on the science of grammar, is a commentary on Ibn Bâbeşâz's work called Mukaddime. Ibn Bâbeşâz used the traditional commentary method in his work Şerhu'lmukaddimeti'l-Muhsibe. The method he followed is generally the method applied in commentaries. Ibn Bâbeşâz wrote this work using the "mezc" method. Thanks to this method, he did not mix the commentary with the text. In this work, which he examined under ten main headings, Ibn Bâbeşâz made an istishhad with the Quran, the Hadith and poetry. In addition, he also gave easy examples that could be understood by everyone. The author used primary and secondary illegitimacy to establish grammar rules and frequently resorted to the fenkale style. This study primarily aims to introduce Ibn Bâbeşâz and examine his work called Şerhu'l-mukaddimeti'l-Muhsibe. It is aimed to reveal his position in Arabic grammar by examining the method, style and his unique or preferential views used in his work. As a result of the study, it was determined that the author preferred the views of the Basra language school in general and Sibawayhi in particular. However, it was determined that Ibn Babashahz preferred the terminology of the Basra language school in his work called Sharh al-Mukkadimati al-Muhsiba. It was observed that the author used a small number of Kufa language school terminology and some terminology specific to himself
