Of the Travel of Ibn Battûta review in terms of values education

In this study, the values in Ibn Battuta Seyahatname were determined and the use of the work in value education was discussed. The universe of the study consists of Volumes 1 and 2 of İbn Battûta Seyahatname translated by A. Sait Aykut. In the introduction part of the study, the subject, problem, purpose, importance, justification, limitations and assumptions of the research are stated. In the first part, the first volume of Ibn Battûta Seyahatnâmesi, translated by A. Sait Aykut, and national-international sources were introduced, the traveler and his travels were introduced, the travel routes were specified, the importance of Seyahatname was emphasized; A conceptual framework was created by working on values and values education. The research is a qualitative study. The research data were obtained through document analysis, which is one of the qualitative research methods, which includes the analysis of written materials containing information about facts and events. In the third and last chapter, İbn Battûta Seyahatnâmesi has been examined in terms of values, expressions containing values and examples of attitudes and behaviors are determined. The determined values are classified as benevolence, generosity, kindness, humility, hospitality, love and respect, tolerance, compassion, patience, gratitude and prayer, justice and righteousness, cleanness and health, courage and aesthetics, and are examined one by one under these headings. At the end of the study, it was seen that the values of benevolence, generosity, gratitude and prayer, hospitality and aesthetics were the most important in the work. The information obtained in the conclusion part of the study was interpreted and evaluations were made regarding the suitability of Ibn Battûta Seyahatnâmesi for use in value education.
