Ibn Hallikan (d. 681/1282), one of the historians, writers, jurists and poets of the Ayyubid period, wrote one of the important biography works of the Middle Ages called Vefeyâtü'l-aʻyân. In this study, the author and his work will be examined and statesmen, viziers, bureaucrats and distinguished people will be determined about the Abbasids and Fatimids in Vefeyâtü'l-aʻyân. Then, the bibliographies of the aforementioned personalities in the work will be included. At this point, the English and Arabic editions of the work that has not been translated into Turkish will be compared. The content of the thesis will not only be translated into translation; A comparison will be made about the personalities whose biographies are given with other sources of the period; so these distinguished individuals will also be subject to an evaluation. Partial translations of the parts of the work related to the Seljuks have been made in various articles, and valuable information in an important work of the Middle Ages will be revealed by examining the records about the Abbasid and Fatimid Caliphate.
