Analysis of İbnu Nüceym: Zeynüddin b. İbrahim b. Muhammed el-Misri el-Hanefi's (Death 970/1563) work of art titled Lübbü'l-Usul

Analysis and reading of the book Lübbü'l Usul by Allame Zeyn b. Nüceym el Hanefi comprise the subject of my thesis. He was born and lived in 10th century (926-670 Hijri) in Egypt and he resided in Cairo where he referred to as "my city Cairo". He obtained his knowledge from scholars in Egypt and from scholars who came to Egypt from different regions. İbn Nüceym is the most important writer specific to Hanafi Islamic jurisprudence and in Eşbah and Nezair disciplines, and he was regarded as the most important Islamic Jurisprudence Scholar of his time. When it comes to Lübbü'l Usul which is the subject of the thesis, it actually is a summary of the book et- Tahrir el- Cami li Asley'il Hanefiyye'ti ve'ş Şâfiiyye by Allame Muhakkik İbnu'l Hümam. This book consists of numerous important features. Some of them are as follows: This book includes studies of two great scholars named İbnu'l Hümam and İbn Nüceym. İbn Nüceym wrote this book in Hanafi method. Yet, the original version was written in Shafii method. In this book, İbn Nüceym tended in detail towards Islamic evidences which are generally accepted by public. Then he mentioned the evidences disputed in this matter and worked on some linguistic issues. We separated this thesis into two parts: First Part: This part is a study on detailed translation of the author (Name, bloodline, birth, improvement, teachers, Islamic philosophy, knowledge position, students, works and death). We also made a study aimed at identifying the book. In the study, we worked on book's name, exclusiveness to author, subject, significance, sources, terms, method we used on study, handwritten copies and explanations of the book. Second Part: Study that renders making a choice in a dispute situation between handwritten copies possible and analyzed text of the book take place in this part. Also, footnotes for disputes between handwritten copies, comments on hard-to-understand parts of the book, expanding obscure parts, showing the source of quotes present, showing the sources of rumors and Hadith present in the text of book, descriptions of places and people are contained therein. Then I ended the study of the book by putting some headlines for explanation and clarifying purposes, by adding references and a general index.
