The importance of using plants in interior spaces is increasing day by day, and especially today's their widespread use can be seen in modern buildings. However, stairs from vertical circulation areas, which are an important component of the interior, are generally considered only as a functional element, without any aesthetic intervention. However, the use of plants is important in terms of creating positive effects in terms of softening the cold and solid appearance of the stairs, increasing their aesthetic and visual appeal, and presenting a spacious appearance. In this thesis study, it is aimed to emphasize the aesthetic, visual and psychological benefits and requirements of using plants on indoor stairs. With the help of this study, it is aimed to determine the effects of plant applications with different linear features on the user and designer on different surfaces, from vertical circulation areas in the interior to the stairs, to reveal their visual quality values, to evaluate them in terms of usage, and to reveal the options they like the most, together with the reasons why they like them. Within the scope of the study, the planting intervention was applied to 4 different surfaces: the wall surface next to the stairs, the steps, the railings and the step/railing. In planting intervention studies on the wall surface, two different intervention methods, showing linear and curvilinear lines and the differences in terms of direction and continuity of the lines were examined under three different options. In order to reveal the effect of the continuity of the plant application (continuous, uniformly spaced and variable spaced) created in the planting interventions made on the steps, railings and steps and railings, three different options were produced separately on each surface. As a result, the formal feature of the plants applied to the wall surface (curvilinear and linear line), the direction feature (horizontal, vertical and horizontal / vertical), the continuity of the plant application (continuous, uniformly spaced and variable spaced) and the continuity of the plant application in the planting interventions applied to the other three surfaces. Its effects on visual perception will be revealed. The results reveal that the planting interventions applied to different surfaces, the line in the applied intervention, the differences in form, direction and continuity have an impact on the preferences. When making plant interventions in areas where stairs are located indoors, it is important to take these results into consideration and make appropriate interventions in terms of space usage and the visual impact it creates.
