Abstract (EN)
Building sector; is an intensive knowledge indusry. A lot of information is used throughout the life cycle of an including building planning, design, construction and operation. Construction projects are complex issue and management becomes more difficult day by day. Building Information Modeling (BIM); It is one of the most important technological innovations in the building industry, which contributes to cooperation and interoperability between different disciplines. Like BIM, new developments in technology create serious competitive pressure on construction and design firms. Design and construction companies feel the need to develop their innovative skills and adapt new technologies to survive and thrive in this competitive environment. There is a perception that BIM technology is used only in large-scale construction projects and focuses on the advantages it brings to this area in our counry. But, building information modeling is a powerful tool for design planning and communication for interior designers as well as for other building design professionals and provides a significant competitive advantage in interior design. The construction item of the interior design; It contains many items such as lighting, acoustics, decoration, HVAC, sanitary system and drainage. Using BIM in interior design; It provides benefits such as creating the design quickly and easily, calculating costs and quantities, preparing exploration, choosing the right material from the layout. Despite this situation, BIM is not used much in interior design. The purpose of this study; To investigate the use and advantages of BIM in interior design and to examine the adaptation of BIM in the interior design industry. A survey was designed to capture the required data for this study. According to the results of the study, the use of BIM in the interior design industry is at a very low level, and interior architects should be informed about BIM and supported by the public.
