Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study consists 4 air heated solar collectors designed with different fin structure in the climatic conditions of Batman province have variable air velocities (which are 1m/s - 1.5m/s - 2m/s - 2.5m/s - 3m/s - 3.5m/s - 4m/s) and in addition to thermal performances were experimentally compared. The parameters affecting of the thermal performance at different day and air speeds of the experimental setup set up in Batman University West Raman Campus were numerically investigated. As a result of the experiments, the average temperature difference occurred in the collectors was at the highest 1.5m/s air speed of 540C and in the air solar collector (HGK-3) with aluminum box and metal chips. It has been observed that the amount of increase in air velocities between 1m/s and 4m/s increases the instantaneous and daily average efficiency values of all collectors. Considering the average highest yield values ; Efficiency value for 1m/s air velocity is 21% in Aluminum box (HGK-1) collector, for 1.5m/s air velocity, efficiency value is 31% In Aluminum box-metal chip (HGK-3) collector, 2m/s - 2 Efficiency values for 5m/s - 3m/s and 3.5m/s air velocities are respectively 35%, 43%, 45% and 53% in the Aluminum box (HGK-1) collector and for 4m/s air velocity the efficiency value is It has been observed that it is 51% in the Aluminum box-paraffin (HGK-4) collector.
