In a sense, Turkey's political history is the history of the military's influence and interventions on civil politics. This situation manifests itself in the form of intervention in civil politics since the army has been the main actor of our modernization effort since the modern Ottoman period and then combined it with its savior-founder role and transferred it to the Republic period. These interventions take place in the form of direct seizure of the administration twice, and they also interrupt the democratic life with methods such as a memorandum. Apart from these, there are also attempts that have been attempted but have not reached a result. The 9th of March 1971 coup attempt, which constitutes the focal point of our work, is among these. The intervention of the army in civil politics is examined in the context of civil-military relations in the political science literature in the most basic sense. In this thesis, the works and opinions produced about the civil-military relations literature both in the world and in Turkey are examined, military interventions from the Ottoman to the Republic with a historical perspective. has been transferred. To create a general perception of the factors that prepared the 9 March 1971 initiative, the international conjuncture, and the general political structure of Turkey in the 1960s were explained, the main theses forming the ideological infrastructure of the March 9 initiative, the movements that developed the practice of these theses in Turkey, and the actual actors in the coup attempt the organizations that have been examined have been examined The aim of our study is to make a political and socioeconomic analysis of the coup attempt of March 9th, 1971, while doing so, to reveal the reasons for this initiative to be "distinct" from previous and subsequent interventions in our opinion, and a detailed study on this subject, which has been studied as a sub-section in various studies in the literature. is to do.
