Administrative supervision of radio and television and administrative sanction authorization of Radio and Television Supreme Council in the context of freedom of expression

Having freedom of expression has great importance for both the private individual and society. The freedom of expression can only be achieved through the fact that individuals can freely transfer their thoughts and access them. The effect of radio and television which enables individuals to share and learn thoughts is very strong and that is the reason why this area needs to be inspected. However, this inspection must be subject to certain limitations. In this context, firstly, freedom of expression will be analyzed; then the regulation, sanction and supervision functions of RTÜK will be examined and sanction decisions taken will be evaluated in the context of freedom of expression.
