Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine the effects of nitrogen doses on yield and quality of cotton varieties grown under farmer conditions in Hakveyis village of Igdır province in 2018.The experiment was carried out in randomized blocks in a factorial trial design with three replications and consisted of a total of 36 parcels. In the experiment, Flash, BA-119, Lodos cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) varieties were used and four different nitrogen doses (0, 5, 10 and 15 kg / da) were applied. At the end of the study, it was determined that nitrogen dose applications had a positive effect on some of the observed properties such as first squaring time, first flowering time, first boll opening time, number of vegetative branches, fiber yield and seed cotton yield. The highest unginned yield and fiber yield were obtained from the 10 kg/da application of nitrogen dose. Variety factor was found to be effective on first squaring time, number of vegetative branches and number of generative branches. The variety and nitrogen dose applications had no effect on sowing-emergence date, plant height, number of bolls, bolls unginned weight, ginning efficiency, yarn spinnability index, fiber fineness, maturity, fiber length, uniformity index, short fiber content, strength, elasticity, brightness-whiteness degree, yellowness grade and trash grade properties.
