Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT MS Thesıs THE EFFECT of NITROGEN DOZES and INTRA-ROW SPACING on YIELD and YIELD COMPONENTS of SAFFLOWER (Carthamus tinctorius L.) UNDER THE IĞDIR PLAIN DRY CONDITIONS Recep AKIŞ Iğdır University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Field Crops Supervisor: Asst. Prof. Dr. Tamer ERYİĞİT This study was carried out to determine the effects of different nitrogen doses and intra-row spacing on the seed yield and yield components of Remzibey-05 safflower cultivar. The study was conducted at randomized complete block with split plot design with three replication under Iğdır plain dry conditions in 2012. In this study which Remzibey-05 safflower cultivar was used as the material, three row spacing (10, 15, 20 cm) and four nitrogen doses (0, 10, 15, 20 kg/da) were applied. Observed characteristics were plant height, diameter of stem, number of primary branches, number of secondary branches, number of heads per plant, diameters of head, 1000 seed weight, seed yield, crude oil ratio, crude oil yield and crude protein ratio. According to the results, nitrogen doses were found to have significant effects on features, except oil ratio and intra row spacing had significant effects on features, except plant height and oil ratio. In the trial, seed yields varied between 155,23 kg/da -196, 95 kg/da. The highest seed yield (196,95 kg/da) and oil yield (70,09 kg/da) were obtained from combination of 15 kg/da nitrogen dose and 15 cm row spacing of distances. In order to get the maximum safflower yield under the local conditions, plant distance of 15 cm row spacing and 15 kg/da nitrogen dose needed to be said.
