Generally the effect of shear is not considered in the design of frame structures. In this study the effect of shear on the frames having shear walls is considered. The use of matrix methods in the analysis of structures is increasing as the computer memory capacity and computational speed are increasing. The effects of shear could be easily included in the analysis procedure by the matrix methods. In order to understand the effects of shear, some algorithms are developed. Using these algorithms some frame models with shear walls are analized and the effect of shear is examined. It is concluded that there is some effect of shear on the frames analized. But this effect is not considerable and could be neglected and as a result of this a critical situation will not be encountered.
