Abstract (EN)

In this study, 900 eggs from two different strains of egg layer hens (Babcock300and Isa-Brown) were used. B-1 stands for the eggs from Babcock300 and K-1 for theeggs from Isa-Brown and analyzed when the eggs were in day old status. B-2 and K-2stands for the eggs from Babcock300 and Isa-Brown and analyzed when the eggs werestored in 22 0C for one week. B-3 and K-3 stands for the eggs from Babcock300 and Isa-Brown and analyzed when the eggs were stored in 22 0C for the first week and 27 0C forthe second week. Eggs were weighed, shape index were measured and they were brokento measure the albumen height and yolk height. Haugh unit was calculated. The data were analyzed with the One-Way ANOVA procedure using SPSSstatistical package program. The means were compared for significance by Duncan?stest. The differences between the storage periods were found statistically significant(P<0,05) for all the parameters except shape index. The differences in genotypes werefound statistically significant (P<0,05) for all the parameters (P< 0.05). Shape index %76,24 (B-1), % 76,21 (B-2), % 75,94 (B-3) and % 77,99 (K-1), % 78,50 (K-2), % 78,29(K-3); egg weight 59,27g (B-1), 57,78g (B-2), 55,15g (B-3) and 61,90g (K-1), 61,14g(K-2), 56,99g (K-3); albumen height 9,13mm (B-1), 4,87mm (B-2), 3,14mm (B-3) and7,77mm (K-1), 4,47mm (K-2), 2,91mm (K-3); yolk height 17,30mm (B-1), 15,10mm(B-2), 11,64mm (B-3) and 16,99mm (K-1), 14,62mm (K-2), 11,24mm (K-3); Haughunit 95,47 (B-1), 67,46 (B-2), 49,52 (B-3) and 87,32 (K-1), 62,14 (K-2), 45,38 (K-3).Key Words: Babcock300, egg quality, genotype, Isa-Brown, storage time.
