Abstract (EN)
In this study, the mathematical analyze of a coupled tank liquid-level system which is widely used in industrial processes, has been investigated. Then, the real time liquid level control applications of the system has been realized by fractional order sliding mode controller (FOSMC) that is designed depending on the nonlinearity of the system also and the performance of the controller has been investigated for different reference signals. Today, due to its advantages such as robustness to disturbances, designed and applied easily to the nonlinear systems, the SMC has been widely used in many research areas. On the other hand, the chattering is the most known disadvantages of the SMC. This unwanted movement can be reduced or eliminated by using some methods. However, while using such methods to overcome this unwanted movement, some useful properties of the controller can be lost. To design the controller effectively and to keep the chattering effect at minimum level, the SMC has been designed with fractional order instead of integer order.
