Abstract (EN)
One of the consumption expenditures that continues to increase gradually is the expenditures made in the clothing sector. The expenditures of individuals in the clothing sector are affected by reasons such as the tastes and preferences of the consumer, the price of the product, the prices of the related goods, and the income of the consumer. As in all areas of the economy, it is important to use scarce resources effectively in the clothing sector. In the face of increasing prices over time, consumers do not want to compromise on their clothing. As a result, consumers have started to turn to second-hand clothing for reasons such as price increases, fashion, brand or nostalgic products. The aim of this study is to analyze the factors affecting the second-hand clothing demand of people living in Ankara city center and to reveal the relationship between these factors and socio-economic and demographic factors. According to the empirical findings obtained as a result of the analysis of the data set compiled from the questionnaires applied to 621 people residing in the city center of Ankara, there is a statistically significant relationship between the decision to buy second-hand clothes and household income, shopping frequency, shopping method preference and purchased product preference. has been detected. In addition, it has been determined that the income constraints of individuals, that is, their economic status, their second-hand product purchasing behavior, and the second-hand product purchasing measures of housewives and unemployed are lower than civil servants.
