Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis is to examine resonance strategies in singing and to make suggestions about how these strategies can be used in singing pedagogy, especially in training tenor voices. The tenor voice, one of the hardest vocal categories to train, with its tricky passaggio area and risky high notes, deserves a very delicate study of passaggio and higher zones. In order to do so, this thesis gives a basic knowledge of the newly popularized branch of voice science named vocal acoustics. Due to research done by using new technologies, a considerable amount of new bio-acoustic data that was not previously available has been obtained from opera singers' voice recordings. These data indicate the different resonance strategies used by the tenors. In this thesis, resonance strategies used by famous tenors and their place in singing pedagogy will be examined in the light of current findings. The study will conclude with suggestions regarding vocal pedagogy, especially in the context of developing and using resonance strategies in the education of tenor singers.
