Abstract (EN)

Climate change and related disasters are encountered in almost every field today as an important problem. Floods, one of these disasters, were modeled in both 1 and 2 dimensions for the Amik plain with hydrodynamic model approach in this thesis. The changes of climatic parameters belonging to the study area for many years have been examined by using trend research methods. In addition to the Mann Kendall test, Spearman's Rho test and Linear regression classical trend research methods, the Innovative Şen trend method, which offers an innovative trend research approach, was used. The trends of average air temperature, total precipitation, average wind speed, average relative humidity, maximum and average flow data of the stations located around the Amik plain were investigated for monthly, seasonal and annual time periods. Also, an index was defined for heavy rains, which is one of the most important causes of floods, and the changes of this index for a long period were examined by trend analysis methods. The new version of HEC-RAS software (5.0.7) was used for flood mapping. Flood data in the Amik plain in 2012 were selected for the calibration of the models. The 2012 flood was simulated with HEC-RAS by using digital elevation models (DEM) created with three different satellite data. Improvements have been made in digital elevation models by directly using HEC-RAS software to eliminate errors caused by resolution in DEM. After determining the most suitable DEM, the flood impact areas were determined by using different frequency flow rates of some stations in Amik plain.
