Effect of climate changes on the agricultural sector in Turkey

Global warming describes the process of warming the world as a result of the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Climate change resulting from global warming negatively affects the agricultural sector. Global warming and climate changes, whose effects have been felt all over the world and in all areas in recent years, are among the priority issues in academic studies. In this study, the effects of climate changes on the agricultural sector, which is very important for human life, are discussed from the perspective of Turkey. In the study conducted, to examine the effects of climate changes on the agricultural sector in Turkey between 1970-2020; Land where grain is produced, grain production, fertilizer consumption, CO2 emissions (carbon emissions) and average temperature data were used. The analysis was estimated using the annual data set with the ARDL model. According to the estimation results, a long-term cointegration relationship was found between carbon emissions, fertilizer consumption, grain producing land and temperature, and grain production.
