An example about the usability of newspapers as source work in economic, social and political history researches: Index for news by Payitaht newspaper(1921)

Sedat Simavi, who impressed the Turkish press history, owned Payitaht Newspaper, which was published 64 issues during the period when Istanbul was occupied. The thesis heading "An example about the usability of newspapers as source work in economic, social and political history researches: Index for news by Payitaht Newspaper (1921)" has a source feature for the researches who study the armistice period. While preparing the thesis, all news headlines were primarily documented one by one. A detailed index was formed in parallel with that. In the introduction part of our thesis springing from three parts, information about Sedat Simavi, founder of the newspaper and Payitaht newspaper was tried to be given. The first part had economic news that were published. And the second part had economic and social news about Istanbul and the third part had political news. And as the last one, an index study, sample pages from Payitaht newspaper and caricatures were given places.
