Abstract (EN)

The cost of conventional therapy for neurophatic and cancer pain is increasing day to day. Especially, in the difficult cancer patients 70% of them pain and 65% of them non-malignant reasons death has been saw, show us to understand how the new therapy methods are necessary. İntratekal injection opioid and morphine therapy has been applied since 1980s and developed ad intratechal infusion pump application. In our country as the severe pain complains and the cost of budget increase every year frequently, we have started to make ecnomic analyze of intratechal infusion pumps which is manufactured in Europe. With comparing between intratechal morphine applications and other medical and surgical therapies, intratechal infusion therapy has been reached as cost effectiveness. In this study, the calculation has been done according to cost data manuals, literatures and the opinion for therapy and application by professionals and in order to measure cost effectivenes of intratechal morphine application ?pain intensity reduction ration? has been selected. For measurement evaluation VAS ( Visual Analog Scale) and NRS( Numeric Rating Scale) have been used. According to the study?s result; when we compare the value of cost effectiveness of implanted infusion pump and started conventional medical therapy applications in chronic pain, the total cost of implanted infusion pump application is 22.749,75 TL and the total cost of conventional therapy value is 15,418,14 TL has been obtained. The pain intensity reduction ratio of Intratechal infusion pump application has been 52.4 % obtained. Altough the intratechal infusion pump application is founded as high cost and high benefits in cost effectiveness plane, it has been obtained as cost effective health technology when it is compared with conventional therapy in chronic pain.Intratechal Infusion Pump which is cost effective product in chronic pain , provides to the patient high quality life and is evaluated as superior treatmentKey Words: Neurophatic Pain, Chronic Pain, Intratechal Morphine, Infusion Pump, Conventional Therapy and Cost Effectiveness.
