Religious visits in ilgaz district center and surroundings

Due to its geographical location, Ilgaz has been a settlement that has hosted different civilizations since ancient times. Although it still carries the traces of these different civilizations, Ilgaz district is among the towns that have been Turkified since the early periods in the process of Turkification of Anatolia after the 1071 Malazgirt Victory. In historical sources, Ilgaz region of Çankırı province is also included; Çankırı, Kastamonu and Sinop provinces were conquered in 1082 by Emir Karatekin, one of the commanders of the Seljuk Sultan Süleyman Shah, and it has remained one of the rare Turkish towns that have never been invaded since then.Due to this feature, it carries the first traces of Khorasan Alperen, Bukhara scholars and Turkish elders from Central Asia, but it is also rich in terms of religious visits such as tombs, tombs, tombs, visits, hills, trees and healing water.
