Abstract (EN)

The Küllüoba Mound, which provides the original material for this study, is located in Yenikent Village in Seyitgazi district of Eskişehir. Küllüoba, which is one of the settlements that presents all phases of the Early Bronze Age without interruption, reflects the cultural development process in detail thanks to this feature. This study focuses on the production techniques, typology, areas of use and the effects of these tools on the economic structure of the period by focusing on the sickle blades found in Küllüoba Mound. The sickle blades obtained from the Küllüoba Mound excavations were examined in the study. First, the types and properties of the stones from which these tools were made were determined and information was obtained about the raw material resources in the region. Then, the production techniques and typology of the sickle blades were presented in detail within the scope of the study. In addition, comparisons were made with the data obtained from other settlements in Western Anatolia. Finally, the geographical location, architectural features and findings of Küllüoba Mound were examined and the function of the sickle blades in the local context was evaluated. In the study, it was determined that the sickle blades found in Küllüoba Mound were mostly made of flint. The distribution of the typological analysis of the sickle blades to the phases of the EBA period provides important clues about the typological and technological development of the period. In addition, regional comparisons revealed the similar and different features of the sickle blades in Küllüoba Mound in other settlements in Western Anatolia. This study has provided an idea about the formation of the agricultural economy of the Early Bronze Age and its periodic rates through the sickle blades found in Küllüoba Mound. It provides information about the production techniques, typology and areas of use of sickle blades, the interactions of the people of the period with their environment and their technological skills.
