Abstract (EN)

The aim of the current study is to investigate the effect of Primary Years Program (PYP) on children's Science Process Skills (SPS) in early childhood education. The study that was designed as quasi experimental focused on the children attending private schools in Istanbul. In this study, it was used a Science Process Scale that was developed by Ozkan (2015). In this study, some approvements were taken by MEB and parents that were found some differences between the preschoolers who were attending an IB and MEB school. Before implementing the IB program, the children was applied a pre and post test as experimental and control group. After that children in experimental group were applied an IB program during 12 weeks. Conversely, any kind of special program was applied to control group. When it was seen the results of the study after completing the IB program there has been no significant differences between the experimental and control group during the pre test. After 12 weeks, it has found a significant differences between two groups on the basis of science process skills. When it is analyzed by factors, there seems no differences between two groups. At the end of the research, the researcher has found an interesting difference between the post and follow up test in the experimental group.
