Students of grades 1-5 in order to investigate the creativity of students in term of demographic variables

This research has been done in Antalya Serik Çandır Şehit Öğretmen Mustafa Saadettin Küçük İlköğretim okulu for the students of grades 1,2,3,4,5 in order to investigate the creativity of students in terms of demographic variables.The sample of this research has been created by all 256 students from grades 1 to 5 in Antalya, Serik, Çandır Şehit Öğretmen Mustafa Saadettin Küçük İlköğretim Okulu.In this research Activity 2 and activity 3 in Form A of Torrance creative thinking test is used in order to measure the creative thinking skills of children. While doing the evaluation, points are calculated in 4 skills, fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration.In this research One Way Anova is used while examining the independent variables like the students? number of siblings, mother's and father?s occupation, mother's and father?s education level, student?s grade and age. Independent Samples Test is used while examining the variables like gender, fact of migration and parents? marriage status.In the research, a significant difference is not found within TYDT?s fluency, flexibility, originality, elaboration facts and gender, migration, and variables of marriages status.As the age progresses an increase in fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration has been observed. As the class level changes, points of fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration have also been changed.According to research findings, points of creativity increased in paralel to parents education level. Again according to research findings children of officials have higher elaboration points than the others.A siginificant difference is not found between TYDT?s fluency, flexibility, originality, elaboration and the variable of number of siblings.With this research, students? capability of creative thinking skills in terms of their living conditions have been measured in order to take precautions for the development of TYDT?s fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration.Keywords: creativity, creative thinking, fluency, flexibility, originality, elaboration.
