Raising enviromental awareness through the application of waste materials in primary school 6th visual arts course

In this research, it is intented to raise enviromental awareness among students through the application of waste materials in the visual arts course. Qualitative research method and case study pattern was used in the research. The research lasted four weeks with 21 students studying in the 6th grade of primary school in the 2022-2023 academic year. From data collection tools semi-structured interwiews , observation, camera recordings,documents containing researcher and student diaries were used in the research. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive analysis method. In this research, environmental awareness, application process, working environment themes were obtained. According to the results obtained in the direction of research findings, students have gained knowledge about waste material and recycling with waste material application in the visual arts course. The creativity of the students who learned that they can use waste materials as a means of artistic expression visual arts course, has improved. Students have gorned environmental awareness.
