Being researched the verbal and unverbal transmittings relating to democracy and human rights which are found in primary school 6th class social science book according to teachers? opinions

Main purpose of this study is to discover verbal and unverbal transmittings related to democracy and human rights which are found in primary school 6th class social science book through an analysis with teachers? opinions. At the same time, at the study it?s emphasized how the social science books are needed to be from the angle of democracy and human rights education.Research range of this study is composed by all the social science teachers employed at primary schools in Aydın district in the course of 2008- 2009 education year. Sampling of the study is composed by 76 social science teachers.?Primary School 6th Class Social Science Book Evaluation Form? was used for the quantitative data obtained with the research after being prepared by the researcher. Reliabilty coefficient of Primary School 6th Class Social Science Book Evaluation Form was calculated ?=,9471. Meanwhile, the evaluation form consists of 3 dimensions such as ?The Transmittings Relating To Discrimination, The Transmittings Relating To Human Rights And The State Relation, The Transmittings Relating To Social İnstituation, Conception And Values?.During the process of analysing the data optained in the study, frequency, percent, arithmetic average, standart deviation, t-test and test of Kruskal Wallis had been used. Significance level in statistical analyses carried out was accepted (p<.05).
