Using of concept maps in primary science and technology lessons

Abstract (EN)

In this thesis the results of questionnaires about how effectively concept mapping is used in Science and Technology Lessons in elementary and secondary schools were discussed. First, students and teachers teachers were asked informally to get some information about the related topic. According to information from students and teachers the questionnaires were prepared to know that how effective is the concept mapping method in Science and Technology Lessons. The questionnaires were applied to 150 students at 4th grade, 250 students at 5th grade, 250 students at 6th grade and 150 elementary school teachers. The result of questionnaires was transmitted into the tables. Lastly, it was passed into the outcome sections after analyzing these tables as detailed. In the conclusion sections, it was seem that students and teachers believe that using concept mapping is useful and despite the fact that they like using concept mapping they have some difficulties in applying concept mapping. Lastly, the results are discussed and some suggestions were given.
