Primary ii. stage teacher education issues on the opinions of democracy in Germany and in the Turkey comparison: Example of Osnabruck-Muş

The aim of our study is to compare Secondary School teachers? opinions on Democracy Education Issues who teach subjects in Secondary Schools about Democracy Education in Turkey and Germany. For this reason, Survey Model and Qualitative Interview Technique are used. The population of the study is formed by 11 secondary school teachers in the city of Osnabrück in Germany with 11 secondary school teachers in the city of Mus in Turkey. Qualitative interview is put into practice to collect data. In the interview totally six questions are asked to the teachers of both countries in the same form. Recording device is used in the interview and then records are converted into text. Descriptive analysis technique is used for the analysis of the obtained data. German teachers 'responses are shown as A1-A11 and the Turkish teachers' responses are shown as T1 - T11.At the end of the study, differences are observed in the teachers' perceptions of democracy and applications related to democracy education. It is determined that there are more applications about democracy education in Germany and students are guided to join issues such as school and lesson. German teachers carry out class assemblies? application and organize the selection of instructional materials. In the German schools, enough space for democracy education is provided. In contrast, in Turkey, it is indicated that there is not enough space for democracy education in schools. It is concluded that sufficient awareness of participation of students in Turkey is not properly achieved, applications are not done sufficiently while teaching democracy education and courses are usually thought theoretically.Key words: Democracy, education, Democracy education
