Abstract (EN)

Aim: This study was planned to determine the children with voiding dysfunctions in primary school students aged 7-10 and to investigate the relationship between parental attitudes. Method: The type of the study is a descriptive, correlational study. The sample consisted of 470 students's mothers. In our study, Voiding Dysfunctions Symptom Score (IBSS) and Parent Attitude Research Instrument (PARI) were used. The data obtained from the research are presented with number percent, average and standard deviation values. Pearson correlation analysis was used for the relationships between variables. Results: In our study, 8,5% of the children had symptoms of voiding disorders. However, 11,7% of children had diurnal enuresis and 14,9% had nocturnal enuresis. A negative correlation was found between the mothers' democratic and rejection of the role of the mother and their scores on IBSS (p<0.05). It was found that there was a positive relationship between mothers' strict discipline attitude and IBSS scores of children with and without voiding problems (p<0.05). As strict discipline practices increase, voiding disorders increase. Conclusion: It is recommended that School Health Nurses, teachers and students' parents should plan awareness trainings and take initiatives in cooperation with their families. Key words: Voiding dysfunctions, Parental Attitudes, Primary School Students, School Nurse
