Abstract (EN)

This study aims to investigate the effects of primary school students' participation in swimming on their academic achievement and free time management skills. While there are studies in the literature on the positive effects of sports in general on academic achievement and time management, studies specific to swimming are limited. In particular, the effects of elementary school children's participation in swimming on these two parameters have not been sufficiently investigated. This thesis aims to reveal how swimming affects academic achievement through skills such as discipline, concentration, physical health, and time management, and how it contributes to students' more effective use of their free time. The main objectives of the study are as follows: To compare the academic achievement levels of primary school students who participate in swimming with those who do not. To evaluate the effect of participation in swimming on students' free time management skills. To analyze the effects of swimming on academic achievement and time management in terms of variables such as gender, age, swimming duration, and training frequency. This study aims to fill the gap in the literature by providing concrete data on the effects of swimming on elementary school students and contributing to sports education policies. Strategically, it aims to produce evidence to support the integration of sports activities into the curriculum at the elementary school level and to guide the development of sports programs that will contribute to both the academic and personal development of students.
