Organizational metaphor perceptions of primary school managers and teachers towards the instituon they work for (Sample of Kastamonu)

In this study, firstly information about culture and organizational culture are included. Then, organizational culture and position of metaphor at management and organizational culture are investigated. Besides, metaphor concept and organization & management metaphors are investigated by being studied in order to make a whole.The aim of this research is to exhibit the organizational metaphor concept of teachers and school managers towards the instituon they work for. For this, ?Organizational Metaphor Scale? created by the researcher is aplplied totaly 311 participant from teachers and school managers work at 18 primary schools in Kastamonu central district.Questionnaires are distributed to the participants by the researcher. Questionnaires filled in by the participants are gathered by the researcher. The answers given to the questionnaires from the participants are transferred to the computer and anayzed by the help of SPSS (12) packet programme. Normally test is applied to the data which show normal distrubition. Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis H test are applied to the data which don?t show normal distrubition. Also, Levene test is applied in order to test whether variances are homogeneous or not. Tukey test is applied for the groups in which variances are homogeneous, Tamhane test is applied fort he groups in which variances are not homogeneous. Reliability coefficient of the scale is ? .80. Reliability coefficient of the data gathered at the research extent is determined as ? .86.According to research findings, school managers and teachers are mostly benefitted from organism metaphor for expressing the instituon daywork for. Furthermore, according to the task title factor, there is statictically meaningful difference between the school managers and teachers at the extent of organism metaphor. School managers show more tendency for Express the instituon they work for, as organism metaphor than the teachers. According to the sex factor, there is a meaningful difference in male participants? favour between the male and female participants for expressing the instituon they work for, by culture metaphor. According to the branch factor there is not a meaningful difference. According to the Professional seniority factor, there is a meaningful difference at the extent of spirits prison. There is a meaningful difference between the ones whose seniority is 5 years and belove and the ones whose seniority is 6-10 years, and also between the ones whose seniority is 11-15 years and the ones whose seniority is 16-20 years in favour of the groups whose seniorty is higher. While the ones whose seniority is 5 years and belove and the ones whose seniority is 6-10 years use the spirits prison metaphor for expressing the instituon they work for, at he level of ?I don?t agree?. The ones whose seniority is 11-15 years and 16-20 years and 16-20 years use the same metaphor at the level of ?I agree a little?. According to the school seniority factor, there is a meaningful difference at the extent of organism, culture and spirits prison. While the ones whose school seniority is 5 years and belove and 21 years and above, express the instituon they work for, by the organism metaphor at the level of ?I agree much?, the ones whose school seniority is 6-10 years and 11-16 years express by the organism metaphor at the level of ?I agree at the intermadiate level?. There is a meaningful difference between the ones whose school seniority is 5 years and belove and 6-10 years participants at the extent of culture metaphor. While the ones whose school seniority is 5 years and belove Express the instituon they work for by the culture metaphor at the level of ?I agree much?, the participants whose school seniority is 6-10 years Express at the level of ?I agree at the intermadiate level?. There is a meaningful difference between the participants whose school seniority is 5 years and belove and 16-20 years participants at the extent of spirits prison metaphor. The participants whose seniority is higher show more tendency for expressing the instituon they work for as spirits prison metaphor than the participants who are in their early years at their professions.
