The views of the primary school administrators about education and the aim of education

The aim of this study is to analyze the concept of education in accordance with the views of the primary school administrators and by this way, to introduce the sense of education that the school administrators base during their implementation. Qualitative research methods have been used at this research. The sample is made up of 20 primary school administrators serving in the center of Kastamonu. The interview questions have been developed by the researcher and data have been collected with semi-structured interview method via interviewing 20 school administrators. The data collected via the interview have been converted into text in computer and have been analyzed through descriptive analysis.According to the research findings, school administrators consider the education as an important service area which provides to discipline and train the individuals for the community to carry on its existence. While the aim of the education is an action providing the individuals to liberalize and become qualified, the aim of the education is ?to educate citizens who love their country and nation? according to the school administartors . According to the school administrators, It is a constitutional requirement to give the individuals the beliefs, attitudes and values of the community and it is provided through education. At this research, it has been seen that the school administrators can?t go beyond the curriculum and the regulations and it has also been seen that they have a basic role at the regeneration period.
