Abstract (EN)
This research has three main focuses or aims. First one is to define the perceptions of the participating teachers about the organizational dynamism, bureaucracy and organizational norms of the schools they work. Second one is to find out whether participating teachers? perceptions about the organizational dynamism, bureaucracy and organizational norms of the schools they work differ significantly with regard to gender, school type and socio-economic status (SES) variables. Third one is to investigate the associations between teachers? perceptions about the organizational dynamism, bureaucracy and organizational norms of the schools they work. The population of the research comprises a total of 3057 teachers working in the state and private schools within the central district of Malatya province. The sample of the research comprises a total number of 1018 teachers chosen from population by quota sampling. Of the teachers involved in the sample, 926 work in state schools while 98 work in private schools. Three distinct instruments, two of which developed by the researcher (Organizational Dynamism Scale for Schools, Organizational Norms Scale), were used to measure teachers? perceptions about the organizational dynamism, bureaucracy and organizational norms of the schools they work. When analyzing the data obtained from the teachers mean scores, standard deviations, t-test, one way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis were carried out. Results revealed that there were statistically meaningful differences in terms of gender, school type and SES variables. The multiple regression analyses used to find the associations between organizational dynamism, bureaucracy and organizational norms revealed that enabling bureaucracy, hindering bureaucracy, and organizational norms are significant predictors of organizational dynamism. According to standardized regression coefficients, enabling bureaucracy, organizational norms, and hindering bureaucracy are respectively the most important predictors of organizational dynamism.
