The effects of digital game addictions of primary school 3rd and 4th class students on responsibility value

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between digital game addiction and the levels of responsibility value acquisition among primary school students, considering class level and gender variables. The research employs a correlational survey model based on quantitative data. The study population consists of 269 primary school students in the 3rd and 4th grades in Ladik district, Samsun province, during the 2022-2023 academic year. Data for the study were collected using the "Digital Addiction Scale for Children" and the "Responsibility Value Scale." Independent Samples t-Test and Simple Linear Correlation Test were used for data analysis to measure the relationship between the Digital Addiction Scale for Children and the Responsibility Value Scale.While significant differences were observed in the scores of 3rd and 4th-grade students on the digital game addiction scale and all its sub-dimensions concerning the gender variable, no significant differences were observed based on the class level. The study examined the relationship between the level of responsibility value acquisition of 3rd and 4th-grade students and the variables of gender and class level. A significant difference was found between the scores on the responsibility value scale and gender. Regarding the relationship between responsibility value acquisition level scores and class levels, significant differences were observed in the total score of the scale and the cleanliness and order sub-dimension, while no significant differences were observed among the other three dimensions. A significant relationship was found between students' scores on digital game addiction and the level of responsibility value acquisition.
