İmproving the ability to say no by using creative drama in primary school 3rd grade social studies

The aim of this research is to use the creative drama method in primary school 3rd grade life students' ability to say no determine its impact on their development. Application 2021-2022 teaching It was held in ona Private College 3-A class. In research embedded pattern, one of the mixed method types, was used. Quantitative which was developed by Ferat Yılmaz and M. Akif Sözer to create the data "Scale of Saying No" was used. Scale without control group it was applied to the study group as pretest-posttest. Statistical data of quantitative data SPSS package program was used in the analysis. Significance levelIt was accepted as 0.05. Qualitative data were used with semi-structured interview technique has been collected. Also diaries kept by teachers and students included in the evaluation as supporting data. Qualitative data in its analysis, inductive technique was used and content analysis has been made. According to the results of the research, it was determined that the students were of the opinion that they had the ability to say no before the research process. It was observed that the skill acquired after the activities increased even more. It was determined that the skill level did not change according to gender, father's education level, mother's education level and parents' union status. It has been determined that students have difficulties in saying no, especially in the family and school environment, they place foreigners and those whose intentions are not clear at the top of the list of people who should be said no, and they are worried about being harmed physically and psychologically if they say no. In the creative drama dimension of the research, it was determined that the students were satisfied with the creative drama method.It has been indexed that the fact that the drama is game-based makes the lessons enjoyable and permanent.
