An analysis on usage of visual materials facilitating learning in music education for 4th grade students

Music education is an education tool as well as an education area in primary school period. Music education in primary school is in a very close relationship with general music education. Primary school music education has several general objectives like; having basic music principles, understanding basic components of music, understanding the position and importance of music in human life, making music according to level, participating music activities, expressing himself via music and making creative musical studies. Visual materials are used in every level of education. Visual materials have several important effects like; being permanent learning, attract attention of individuals to the topic, reinforcing the topic, facilitate education and training and embodying concepts. Under the light of these information; in this study, music course of 4th grade students; where basic concepts of music is given, has been investigated and according to this course several visual materials are prepared considering material preperation principles by researcher. Classroom teachers and music teachers are interviewed regarding the visual materials prepared and some results are obtained having assessed the data of interview. This research is to be considered as an ease for music education for students and contributing study to music education.
