Abstract (EN)
Statistical reasoning is gaining importance in today's world, where knowledge is rapidly increasing. It is considered essential to lay the foundations of statistical reasoning skills in students at an early age. This study aims to develop the statistical reasoning skills of fourth-grade primary school students using the flipped classroom model. The research was conducted using an intervention design, which is one of the mixed-method research designs. The participants of the study consisted of 79 fourth-grade primary school students studying in Hendek district of Sakarya province. The Statistical Reasoning Test, participant observation, researcher diary, student diary, student works, and semi-structured interview form were used as data collection tools in the study. For the analysis of quantitative data, the paired samples t-test, independent samples t-test, Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, Mann-Whitney U Test, and Friedman Test were used. Qualitative data were subjected to descriptive analysis and content analysis. The study concluded that students' statistical reasoning skills were improved through the flipped classroom model.
