Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between narcissistic tendencies and value preferences of primary school teachers. In this study, where the relational screening design, one of the quantitative research methods, was used Personal Information Form, Narcissistic Personality Inventory and Schwartz Values ​​Scale were preferred to collect data. The study universe of the study consisted of teachers working in private and public schools in Ümraniye district of Istanbul. 380 teachers participated in the study and the study was continued with 340 data sets following the normal distribution. The research data were analyzed with descriptive analyses, t-test, ANOVA and logistic regression analyses. According to the findings, it is seen that teachers mostly do not have a narcissistic tendency and the helpfulness sub-dimension of value preferences predicts narcissistic tendencies. Based on the results, recommendations were presented to policy makers, researchers and practitioners regarding the relationship between narcissistic tendencies and value preferences.
