Abstract (EN)

From the very beginning of the establishment and origin of Islam, scholars have had a different respect in the society. The Ottoman Empire, on the other hand, is a state in which this dignity and respect is chanted at the highest level. Starting from the foundind legend of the state, the relationships of many sultans with scholar/scholars as a teacher-student relationship are the most concrete evidence of this. The most intense period of this culture, which was shaped around the production of knowledge and books in Ottoman Istanbul, was the 18th century. Müstakimzâde Süleyman Sadeddin Efendi, who lived in this century, is one of the most powerful figures at the center of this intense activity. He was the most important representative of the tabakat and biography writing in the tradition, and he provided a better understanding of the organizaton of İlmiye with the works he wrote. In this study, at first, Müstakîmzâde's biography was handled and all accessible copies of his works were tried to be presented in a certain classification. Misconceptions about life were tried to be corrected, and previously unknown aspects were brought to light. Müstakîmzade's biography was tried to be established from his own works, manuscripts and various notes on them, and thus a different approach was suggested in his biography studies.
