The comparison of Abu Hanifa-Murcia in the context of faith-action relationship and reflections of murcia perception to the sunni practice

0ur study discusses the relationship of faith and action especially within the scope of Abu Hanifa and Mürcia's opinions. According to them, faith means confirming with the heart, professing through the tongue. On the other hand, actions are not included in faith. Although Abu Hanifa and Mürcia both defend the same opinion that faith means confirming with heart and professing through the tongue, it is understood from Abu Hanifa's own statements that he does not mean such a sharp contrast about action as Mürcia does. He tried to protect the important and inseparable bond between faith and action, gave importance to the effects of faith that surrounds, educates and protects one in all aspects. Despite this, he was charged with being one of the Mürciîs who claim that "disobedience does not damage one's faith". Our study tries to clarify the subject by including possible reasons of this imputation of Abu Hanifa. The results of Murciî iman theory that enables actions to be considered important have become a problem recently, too. Via this study, quality of the relationship between faith and action is analyzed. By investigating the positive and adverse outcomes of Murciî theory, it is tried to determine if Murcî theory effects the indifference that is seen today's faith-action perception or not.
