Abstract (EN)

In this study, an efficient and eco-friendly method has been developed for the synthesis of a selected library of nitro-indeno-thiazolo-pyridine containing heterocyclic scaffold, via one-pot three-component reactions. In order to obtain desired products, 1,3-indandione, 2-nitro methylenethiazolidine and aromatic aldehyde derivatives were mixed in polyethylene glycol and acetic acid system under reflux temperature. The multi-component reaction (MCR) occurs first through Knoevenagel condensation followed by Michael addition. The products' yields range from moderate to good. All products were characterized by physical (m.p.) and spectroscopic (IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and LC/MS) methods.
