Abstract (EN)
In thin film solar cells applications, cadmium sulfide (CdS) is generally used as buffer layer. But, alternative buffer layers are searched due to the toxic effects of cadmium. It is understood that structural, optical and electrical properties of indium sulfide (InS) thin films studied in this thesis can be used as a buffer layer in thin film solar cells instead of CdS thin films. Also, spray pyrolysis method studies is much more cost effective than standard production methods that based on vacuum and with this method large surface InS thin film production method. To find the best InS buffer layer, while producing InS thin films by using spray pyrolysis technique, some of the production parameters have been chaged. The neccessary optimizations where carried out to obtain the effective thin films. These parameters are infuse rate, substrate temperature, solvent, stoichiometry and doping effect on InS thin film. The structural, morphological, electrical and optical properties of InS thin films deposited on soda lime glass with spray pyrolysis technique have been analyzed by using some charaterization methods. The surface morphologies of thin films have been investigated by using Scannig Electron Microscopy (SEM). Moreover, X-Ray Diffraction Spectroscopy (XRD) has been used to investigate the structural properties. Also, the optical properties were determined by using UV-Vis Spectroscopy. Besides, to obtain electrical properties of films I-V measurements have been performed. After all these experiments, 1.0 ml/min infuse rate and 300?C substrate temperature are determined as optimum values. Futhermore, the best fotosensitivty value is measured when the In/S ratio is 1/8. Finally, the results indicated that doping studies have rised the structural species of InS thin films.
