Abstract (EN)

Cost optimization requires continuous performance upgrade in refractory materials in iron & steel manufacturing industry. Also the use of the monolithic refractories such as self-flowing castables, ramming mixes and gunning mixes in processes likes' iron-steel production is on the rise. Understanding of thermomechanical properties, sintering parameters and degradation of monolithic refractories used in induction furnace lining is an important aspect to determine appropriate operating conditions. In this study spinel containing alumina based monolitic refractory applied on induction furnace was produced by adding different amount of calsined alumina and tabular alumina. Next the physical and thermomechanical properties of the new product including porosity, bulk density, corrosion resistant against acidic and basic slag, the formation of spinel phases, thermal shock resistance depending number of quenching cycle and the relationship between bulk density and sintering temperature was investigated.
