Abstract (EN)

Influenza viruses are the main cause of morbidity and mortality caused by respiratory diseases. Throughout history there have been many influenza epidemics and pandemics. The 2009 pandemic, which is the first pandemic of the 21st century is the Influenza A 2009 (H1N1) virus. The investigations have shown that the cause of the 2009 pandemic is a new strain of the H1N1 virus. Genetic material of the new virus has been occured from four different sources. WHO (World Health Organization) recommends the use of oseltamivir which is a neuraminidase inhibitor, in the treatment of pandemic Influenza A 2009 (H1N1) virus. WHO has suggested that the oseltamivir resistance state be monitored carefully when begun to report oseltamivir-resistant cases worldwide during the pandemic period. H275Y mutation that occurs in the gene region of the neuraminidase is caused oseltamivir resistance. In this study, 131 virus strains that detected pandemic Influenza 2009 (H1N1) which obtained from the clinical samples from the Medical Microbiology Laboratory of Yeditepe University Hospital were investigated by the Real time Reverse Transkriptase PCR method with MGB tagman probes because of being fast and sensitive technigue. As a result of the study, 58 strains were susceptible to oseltamivir and 73 strains did not result in low RNA quality. Active antiviral resistance monitoring is important for establishing new treatment modalities and surveillance networks. Key words: Influenza A 2009 (H1N1), pandemiC, , H275Y mutation, surveillance
